Always be yourself! Unless you can be a mermaid, then always be a mermaid!!
I feel the constant pull to be by the ocean. Maybe because of the experiences I had by the sea in my youth. Fishing in a tiny boat, building castles in the sand, splashing my toes and exploring the rockpools, summer carnivals and falling in love or sailing into her vast horizon, gazing at her depths. The sounds, smells and feel of the ocean certainly has my heart!
The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever!

The Pirates and Mermaids Stamp, while simple, provides endless ideas for paper art projects. The one I am sharing today shows how easy it is to use the beautiful designer series paper to create a card layer. Simple tearing stips, creates a natural ocean wave and foaming edge. This is perfect for the mermaid to splash around in.

Of course I used my favourite colouring tools, Stampin’ Blends to create vibrant colour and shading on Shimmery White paper and added extra sparkle with Wink of Stella!
I have a fabulous stash of beautiful paper. I hope this project inspires you to use all the pretty paper you have in your crafting stash. Top tip.. a selection of Designer Series Paper is currently on sale at 15% off!! This means you can restock the stash guilt free! (he he)
